This year our 8th graders will be piloting a new assessment. The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) assesses our students using national standards (Common Core State Standards). English Testing (SBAC) will be April 30, May 1, 5, 6, 7. Students will be tested in their English class. Science MSP will be May 8th from 8:05 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Math Testing (SBAC) will be May 12, 13, 14, 15. Students will be tested in their math class. Please see attached letter that was mailed home the week of April 4th.

The Technology Student Association (TSA) held their state conference in Bellevue, Washington on March 27th-28th and three out of the four Cavelero teams qualified for nationals. Hannah Parke and Reina Walker took first place in leadership with a presentation on how to recruit new members to their TSA chapter. In VEX Robotics Jordyn Jackson and Madison Woll went undefeated all day long and took first place in the middle school category while Aiden Pyle, Jordan Conner, and Andrew Eichenberger took 4th in the high school competition. Aiden and Jordan also placed 2nd in Technical Design where they implemented and documented the design process to solve an engineering dilemma in a limited amount of time.
