Hundreds of shoppers attended the 28th annual Dickens Fair at Cavelero Mid High School on Dec. 6. A total of 120 vendors sold handcrafted items, while student performers sang, danced and played instruments on stage. At the door, shoppers were greeted by members of the Lake Stevens Fire Department who collected food and monetary donations for the Lake Stevens Community Food Bank. Once again, our community was extremely generous, by donating 2,135 pounds of canned and non-perishable food items and $303.05.

Several groups helped to make the event successful—the Lake Stevens Fire Department; district music directors and their students; numerous student volunteers from Cavelero Mid High School and Lake Stevens High School; and the district staff members who organized the event and helped with set up and clean up.

Mark your calendar for next year’s fair—Saturday, Dec. 5. A link to the vendor registration page will be posted here the morning of Monday, Aug. 17.
