At Mt. Pilchuck, our Mission is to empower and equip tomorrow's leaders, today.  Our school's Vision is to embrace, inspire and
impact - Every child.  Every day.
Welcome to "The Mountain"!  We are proud of our staff, students and community.  We work hard to help each child find the leader within.  Our children actively use their academic and leadership skills to make a positive difference in our community.  There is a lot of joy at our school.  When you walk in our doors, you will see examples of student leadership everywhere, and be greeted by friendly staff, students and community members that strive to meet your needs and help you to feel welcome.  It is important to us that our children have fun and find a purpose at our school.  If a child is happy to come to school and engaged in purposeful learning, learning comes more quickly and easily.

  • WIGS
Wigs are made of real or fake hair and are worn on one's head, right? Well, did you also know that each person at Mt. Pilchuck actually has 2 "WIGS" this year? Our WIGS are Wildly Important Goals, and here they are:
WIG #1: By June 16, 2014 each person in our school will have had the opportunity for two classroom leadership roles.
WIG #2: By June 16, 2014 each person in our school will have had the opportunity to take part in at least one building wide leadership position. These positions include, but are not limited to, Leader Greeters, Student Leadership Team, Buddy Bench, Conflict Managers, Tech Crew, Assembly Set up, Friday Fashion Show/Lost and Found, and many more!
Students are keeping track of these goals in their Leadership Notebooks and in classroom displays. We also are showing our progress to everyone - come check out our Wildly Important Bulletin Board, next to room 42. As of March, we were at 92% for WIG #1 and 63% for WIG #2. Our next data point will be taken in May.
