Note to Parents and the Community:

The 2007 – 2008 Student Calendar was developed collaboratively with all district unions.

To provide for more effective use of teacher’s planning and training time, the Lake Stevens Education Association and the district worked to re-arrange and place pockets of time for teacher’s use throughout the year. In this calendar you will see the placement of eight two-hour late starts for students that occur on the first Thursday of the month in October, November, December, February, March, April, May and June. This will provide for a continuum of time for teachers to plan/train and adjust teaching and curriculum focus.

This calendar reflects the same amount of planning time for teachers as provided in past years and is not a reduction in student/teacher contact time.
