LSHS Stadium Planning & Construction Schedule Set
The planning and development process for the Lake Stevens High School stadium project has been set for the balance of this school year with construction bids expected to go out in the summer of 2009.
Following a successful bid process, the demolition and construction of the new stadium will begin after the 2009 LSHS football season concludes.
The original planning and construction schedule for the stadium was set for the winter of 2010 with completion in 2011. The current schedule will have the new facility completed by the summer of 2010.
This summer the district explored moving the stadium project up a year to begin demolition this winter; however due to time constraints and financial schedules it was determined best to have the project remain on the 2010 completion timeline.
The Facilities and Operations Department will work with the architect and interested personnel and community members throughout the winter developing the construction plans for the new facility.
Below are key components of the new stadium facility:
- Provide for covered seating for 2,500
- Adequate restroom facilities
- New concessions area
- Adequate storage space
- New Press box
- Additional parking
- The 2005 bond estimated 2.2 million for the stadium project
