Lake Secretaries Forgo Salary Increase
The Lake Stevens Secretary’s Union recently voted to delay their negotiated 4% salary increase for one year in an effort to support the district during times of financial reductions. The Secretary’s PSE Union is comprised of 40 employees.
Superintendent David Burgess stated, “I sincerely appreciate and applaud the collegial and collaborative attitude of our secretaries, I know this was not an easy decision for them to make.”
The Secretaries joined district administrators in taking a one year salary freeze. Additionally, district administrators agreed to take four non-paid furlough days while the superintendent will take 10 non-paid furlough days to further reduce administrative costs.
