Lake Stevens Virtual High School will again offer online classes for the 2009-2010 school year for qualifying students. LSVHS is limited to district residents in grades 9-12 who meet one of the five following criteria:
- Students who have dropped out of school and are 20 years of age or younger.
- Students in grades 9-12 that may have medical issues that preclude them from attending the high school campus.
- Students who have been expelled or suspended.
- Students who are recommended by their counselor due to evidence that the student is in danger of dropping out of high school.
- Students who are currently enrolled in another on-line school and are interested in coming back to enroll in LSVHS.
LSVHS enables students to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities at their attendance school. Upon completion of graduation requirements, students will receive a diploma from Lake Stevens School District and may be able to participate in graduation.
Interested students may apply beginning September 1, 2009. The information session on August 27 from 7-9 PM to be held at PROVE HS on the Cavelero Mid-High Campus is intended to help prospective students and parents learn more about the online program. Students with individual education plans (IEPs) should check with the district before participating in the program. To apply or to find additional information about LSVHS, interested students and parents can go to www.LSVHS.com or contact Rob Manahan, Executive Director, Lake Stevens School District at 425-335-1624.
