Tentative Agreement Reached in Lake Stevens
First day of school set for Wednesday, September, 9

A tentative agreement was reached late Tuesday evening between the Lake Stevens School District and the Lake Stevens Education Association.

The tentative agreement has just been signed by the District and the Union. Ratification by the LSEA membership is scheduled for Thursday morning and the school board will have the contract to review at their September 9 school board meeting.

Throughout this negotiation process good work was accomplished to discuss issues of concern and possible solutions to mutual problems. Work will continue throughout the year at Labor Management Committee meetings to continue the work that began last May.

As a result of the negotiation agreement, the first day of school for Lake Stevens’ students is changed to Wednesday, September 9. Additional details of calendar changes will be available Thursday, September 10 , after 12:00 pm and will be posted on the District’s website at www.lkstevens.wednet.edu.
