We are very excited to be bringing the WATCH DOGS (Dads of Great Students) program to LSMS. This is an innovative program focusing on education and safety in schools by using the positive influence of fathers and father-figures for a two-fold purpose: (1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important. (2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security, reduce bullying, and provide encouragement. Fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers and uncles are asked to spend at least one day at their student's school volunteering. They will support the school through: monitoring the school property, working one-on-one or in small groups, reading, helping with homework, providing listening ears, sharing about their career, eating lunch with students, or whatever else needs to be done to plant seeds of success in the lives of students. Fathers and father-figures make a HUGE impact on the lives of students and we want YOU here at LSMS. On Wednesday, October 1st, from 6:00-7:00 pm - Bring your student, enjoy some pizza, and learn more about how YOU can make a difference at LSMS. Please RSVP if you would like to attend or contact Traci Kaiser at 425-335-1544 to get more information on how you can take part in this tremendous opportunity.
The Healthy Youth Survey provides important survey results about the health of adolescents in Washington. County prevention coordinators, community mobilization coalitions, community public health and safety networks, and others use this information to guide policy and programs that serve youth. The survey will take place the week of October 13th - 17th. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our counselor, Brice Crowninshield @ 425-334-1544
