Please come to the PTA sponsored Fitness Night on May 9th from 6-8 at Highland Elementary to raise money for Highland's Relay For Life team. Donation is $10.00 per person or $15.00 per family. Our focus is to move and shake with zumba, insanity, obstacle course, bouncy house and provide you with information for what is available for you to do this summer with your family. Let's come together for an awesome cause and kick cancer out the door!
Please swing by and enjoy being served by your Highland Staff from 5:00-7:00 pm on the 24th of April. A percentage of the proceeds during those two hours goes directly toward our Highland PTA!
All third, fourth, and fifth graders will take part in MSP testing beginning at the end of April through the second week in May. Specifically, testing dates are Tuesday, April 29, Thursday May 1, Tuesday May 6, and Thursday, May 8. Third graders will be tested in the areas of math and reading, fourth graders in math, reading, and writing, and fifth graders in math, reading, and science. Specific grade level information will be given by your child's teacher.
We are looking for students in 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade interested in learning how to master the Rubiks Cube! At the very least, we want to get a group together to have some fun with learning about it. There is also a local competition in June which the team will compete in for those members interested! Hope you can make it Tuesday mornings!
Are you interested in being a part of Highland's after-school choir? If so, talk with Mrs. Plunkett. We are looking for students committed to working hard and having fun while developing their vocal talents! This club meets each Tuesday from 3:00-4:00 pm.
Come and join Mrs. Davis each Monday morning and improve upon your jump rope skills. You'll have an opportunity to display your new skills at an end-of-year performance.
Highland Elementary has a running team!! The team meets every Friday @ 7:45 am. All are welcome! Please dress appropriately for the weather :)
This is a club open to any student who wishes to learn some new cheers and dance moves. Mrs. Fuentes is the coach for this club, which meets on the following dates from 8:00 am - 8:30 am in the Highland Cafe': January 15, February 11, February 25, March 11, April 15, April 29, and May 20. Elementary Highly Capable students Program (HiCap)
The nomination process for our Highly Capable Students Program (HiCap) is now open. Beginning next school year, our HiCap program will serve identified students in all grades. Parents, teachers, students, and community members can obtain details about our HiCap program, the identification and assessment process, and a nomination packet (including the required parent permission form) at the following link: Elementary HiCap Packet
Parents can also pick up a HiCap packet from their elementary school’s office. Please note that nomination forms must be returned by Friday, May 2, 2014 and testing will take place at Mt. Pilchuck Elementary School on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Full details are included in the packet.
