    • Practice addition and subtraction facts
    • Write a letter to someone
    • Memorize name, address, phone number, and birth date
    • Retell a story that you have read (beginning, middle, end)
    • Practice counting coins
    • Practice telling time
    • Write a journal entry
    • Write a paragraph (Topic sentence and 3 supporting details)
    • Write a short story
    • Write a poem
    • Work on an educational computer activity
    • Do a science experiment
    • Have a family member give you a math problem to solve: Draw about it, write about it, and solve it
    • Help measure ingredients for a recipe
    • Illustrate and write a sentence or paragraph showing the main idea of a favorite movie or TV show
    • Work on a challenging puzzle and write how you solved it
    • Practice a musical instrument
    • Measure objects around the house with a ruler or measuring tape
    • Use containers for cups, pints, quarts, and gallons to explore capacity
    • Observe with a magnifying glass or telescope and draw or write what you saw
    • Paint or draw and write a caption or story for it
    • Use cards to play a math game
    • Look in the newspaper or online new for an interesting article to share with our class
    • Practice challenging spelling words
    • Read a non-fiction book and share facts you learned
