As we introduce technology at a rapid rate in the Lake Stevens School District, we understand the importance of ensuring that EVERY student has the opportunity to learn about and continually practice good digital citizenship skills.
To provide consistency across schools we have adopted the Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship curriculum. Common Sense Media is a leader in developing many resources for teachers and parents alike. They provide five age appropriate lessons at every grade level. We have developed a schedule to teach these lessons in specific time bands throughout the year. Schools will set aside time during each of those time bands and every student in the school will receive digital citizenship instruction on the same day. Don't be surprised if your children begin to talk with YOU about being safe on the Internet!
Use the Links under the Digital Citizenship heading in the navigation bar on the left to learn more about our curriculum and how we plan to teach it.
