I am excited to be starting my fifth year teaching 2nd grade at Mt. Pilchuck. I attended Washington State University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education, with an endorsement in reading. I received my Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in literacy from Lesley University.
The first nine years of my teaching career were spent working as an elementary reading specialist. After taking several years off to be home with my own children, I returned to the classroom where I taught 1st grade for two years before coming to Mt. Pilchuck and teaching 2nd grade. I love working with this age group.
I live in Lake Stevens with my husband, Dave, and our two kids, Evan (13) and Emma (11). As a family we love to spend time out on the lake during the summer. During the school year our free time is filled with Boy Scout events for my son and riding lessons and horse shows for my daughter.
I am looking forward to an amazing year filled with lots fun, learning and growth! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
