Requirements:

• At least 15 years old
• Lifeguards must be able to pass an endurance test (below)
• Available weekends, evenings, and/or early mornings
• Lifeguard certified* (preferred)

*Applicants without certification must successfully complete an American Red Cross Lifeguarding course.

Endurance testing for lifeguarding candidates (separate from the lifeguard precourse test):

• Swim 200 yards in 4:00 or less without stopping or touching the bottom.  Any stroke may be used.
• Retrieve a 10 pound diving brick from 12 feet and tread water for 1:00 while holding the brick with both hands.
• Swim 25 years head high (face out of the water) in :30 or less.
