Learning doesn't stop when the school day ends. Lake Stevens School District's Community Education program offers opportunities for children, teens and adults through after-school, evening, summer classes and camps. This includes opportunities at the Lake Stevens School District Pool, providing a comprehensive aquatics program for all ages.

Our goal is to offer affordable, high-quality programs that bring our schools to life beyond the school day. By opening our classrooms, gyms, fields and other facilities for community use, we create opportunities for learning, recreation and connection. We believe our schools are at the heart of our community, and we're committed to making them welcoming, accessible spaces for everyone.

The Communications Department manages the distribution of informational materials shared with students and families. To provide a more efficient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective way to share information, Lake Stevens School District uses Peachjar, a digital flyer delivery system.

Through Peachjar, families receive school and approved community flyers electronically, making it easy to stay informed about district programs, community events and educational opportunities while significantly reducing paper use. Visit our Flyer Distribution page for more information.

The Communications Department keeps our students, families, staff and community informed through timely, accurate and engaging communication. We manage the district website, produce news releases, coordinate social media and email communications, and publish a variety of print and digital publications, including the quarterly Lake Schools community newsletter, which is mailed to every household in Lake Stevens.

Our team also develops the annual district calendar and handbook, supports internal staff communications, and plans community events that strengthen connections between our schools and the community we serve.

Our official social media channels help keep students, families, staff and the community informed about what's happening across Lake Stevens School District. Through Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Vimeo, we share district news, celebrate student and staff achievements, highlight classroom learning, provide timely updates and showcase the many opportunities available to our school community.

Our social media accounts are not monitored 24/7. If you’re a student in crisis, or have an emergency, please call 911. We update and monitor social media accounts intermittently throughout the day—from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. At times, our accounts may be used before and after these times to communicate about urgent issues or respond to inquiries from members of the public.

Volunteers play an important role in supporting student success. We welcome parents, caregivers, community members and local businesses who want to make a difference in our schools.

The Communications Department coordinates the district's volunteer program, including processing Washington State background checks for all volunteers and working with schools to ensure volunteers have a positive experience. Each spring, we also partner with our schools to recognize and celebrate the dedicated individuals who generously give their time in support of our students, staff and school communities.
