1:1 Technology Priority
Empowering Future-Ready Learners
Lake Stevens School District provides every student in grades K–12 with access to a Chromebook as part of our commitment to innovation, future readiness and equity. This initiative is funded through the community-supported Technology Levy (approved in 2014 and renewed in 2018, 2022 and 2026) and aligns with our Foundation for Excellence strategic plan.
Why 1:1?
Our 1:1 model ensures that every student—regardless of background or circumstance—has consistent access to the digital tools needed to learn, create, and succeed. Access to a personal device:
- Promotes equitable learning opportunities for all students
- Builds digital literacy and technical skills essential for college and career
- Supports critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity
- Expands opportunities for personalized learning
Technology is no longer optional in higher education or the workplace. By providing reliable access to devices and digital resources, we are preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world.
How It Works
- Grades K–5: Students use Chromebooks in classroom carts and leave devices at school.
- Grades 6–12: Students are issued individual Chromebooks to use at school and at home, enabling learning anytime, anywhere.
Our Commitment
Our 1:1 initiative reflects the strong partnership between our schools and community. Together, we are ensuring that every student has the tools, access, and opportunities needed to be successful today—and ready for tomorrow.
