Construction & Program Update

Lake Stevens School District is planning the Secondary Innovative Learning Center (SILC), a new program and facility made possible through the voter-approved 2025 School Construction Bond. This school will provide expanded learning opportunities for students through innovative programming and updated facilities.

Project Overview

The SILC will provide a dedicated space designed to support flexible learning experiences for secondary students. The school is planned to serve approximately 280 students and will focus on personalized learning experiences that connect academic content with real-world applications.

  • Expand opportunities for students through flexible and innovative learning models
  • Create a learning environment designed specifically to support diverse student needs
  • Provide updated facilities for students in the Transitions program
  • Reintroduce a flexible, innovative, and personalized learning experience for students previously served through Crossroads in Granite Falls

The design of the school will prioritize flexible spaces that support a wide range of instructional approaches and collaborative learning environments.

Site Considerations

The SILC will be located on the Mt. Pilchuck Elementary School campus. As part of the project, existing baseball and play fields will be relocated and improved to support continued student and community use.

Because elementary students will be on site during construction, student safety will remain a top priority. Construction areas will be clearly separated from school operations, and district and construction teams will work closely with school staff to minimize disruptions and maintain safe access for students, staff, and families throughout the project.
