Kindergarten enrollment for the 2025-26 school year

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2025-26 school year begins March 20. Information about enrollment and kindergarten will be on each elementary school’s website the week of March 10.

Welcome! Lake Stevens School District educates students from preschool to 12th-grade (and sometimes beyond) in a variety of programs aimed at making them lifetime learners. To register your child with the district, download and complete the enrollment packet and return it to your neighborhood school (school addresses). Use the SchoolSite Locator tool to determine which school your student will attend.

If you are unable to return the enrollment packet to your neighborhood school, please drop it off at the Educational Services Center (ESC), 12309 22nd St NE. The ESC is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

If your child previously attended a private school, or a school outside of the State of Washington, please complete an Authorization to Release Records Form.

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2025-26 school year begins March 20. Information about enrollment and kindergarten will be on each elementary school’s website the week of March 10.

Children must be five-years-old by Aug. 31, 2025 to enroll in kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year. When enrolling your child, please bring the completed enrollment packet, an official copy of the child's birth certificate, proof of immunization, and proof of residence in Lake Stevens School District. Enrollment is limited to those students who live within school district boundaries.

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2024-25 school year began on March 19! Digital enrollment packets for the 2024-25 school year are available now. Paper copies are available at all elementary schools, and at the Educational Services Center.

Ready for Kindergarten

About the opportunity

Dates: Monday, Aug. 18 through Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025
Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This three-day opportunity offers a safe and welcoming introduction to elementary school for families and students, relieving many first-day anxieties (for students and their caregivers!).

Students will become familiar with the school campus, the school staff, and their kindergarten peers before the start of school. Principals will also provide families an opportunity to meet staff, discuss kindergarten readiness and receive educational support around helping their students transition to kindergarten.

Transportation

Transportation by school bus will be provided if requested in the registration form prior to July 31 for families who need it, or for those who want their child to practice riding the bus before the first day of school.

Due to overcrowding in Lake Stevens School District's schools, new enrollment for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years is limited to those students who live within the school district boundaries. This means that new non-resident variances for students—including kindergarten—will not be approved.
