District News
You are invited to Lake Stevens School District’s Holiday Maker Fair on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cavelero Mid High School.
The classroom lights were dim and students were comfortably seated in the front of the room, fully engrossed in their teacher’s reading of The Wind in the Willows.
Large sheets of paper line the room, filled with colorful Post-It notes containing questions, suggestions and creative ideas. Participants of varying ages and roles are huddled in small table groups throughout the room—pouring over data, maps and charts.
Last spring, Lake Stevens School District’s (LSSD) third- through eighth-graders and 10th-graders took the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) in English Language Arts (ELA) and math.
Highly Capable (HiCap) Program nominations for kindergarten through 12th graders are open between Nov. 1 through Dec. 1 for the 2023-24 school year. Students may be referred by family members or school staff.
