Hello! My name is Shyleen Bucasas and I am a special education teacher here at Mt. Pilchuck Elementary. I was born and raised in Hawaii and moved to Washington in 2006 to attend Eastern Washington University. In 2011, I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication Disorders. I have worked one on one with students in a lifeskills program as a paraeducator for 3 years and through that experience I had decided to get my masters in teaching special education. In April of 2015, I graduated with my masters in teaching special education degree from Grand Canyon University.
I am so excited to be teaching lifeskills at Mt. Pilchuck! In my classroom, it is important to work hard, never give up, and to also have some fun. I look forward to supporting my students and their families. I believe in building a stable relationship with parents because it provides the student with the support to succeed. Feel free to contact me by phone or email.
