Class Room: 16
Welcome to the 2015 to 2016 school year in Room 16! We are going to have the best year ever with lots of learning and fun times that will create lifelong learners forever!
Let me tell you a little about myself
Being a wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and teacher are my favorite things about life. My husband Troy and I have been married 30 years this coming March. I have three daughters, and a grand boy. My next craze for life is hiking peaks. I have hiked two of the 3 tallest mountains in Washington, Mt. Adams 5 years ago! Sunrises and Sunsets make me smile. For the past four summers I have traveled to Mexico to work with over 350 kids from 2 to 18 years of age. I love to be involved and help others.
*Razzles are the candy of Room 16 when it comes to treats. Laughing is the best medicine.
Before becoming a teacher I was an interpreter for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Snohomish School District for 8 1/2 years. As I interpreted I also taught many adults and students how to sign as a side interest. I presently enjoy teaching my 3rd graders sign language as a second language. Hillcrest has been my home as a teacher since 2000. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, a split 3-4, and straight 4th. My college endeavors have been from a variety of local universities such as Western Washington, Seattle Pacific, and Antioch. Besides my B.A. I hold a Master's Degree. Continuing my education and learning new tools to increase my students interest and understanding is a lifelong practice for me.
