"If you ask me what I came into this world to do, I will tell you without hesitation: I was born to be a teacher."
--Robert John Meehan
Hi! I'm Michelle Reed and I have been a teacher for 30 years in both the Snohomish and Lake Stevens school districts. I have taught every grade from kindergarten to fifth in some capacity. I have also been a TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) as an Early Learning Coordinator and Literacy Coach. I am presently the Reading Specialist and ELL Coordinator at Stevens Creek Elementary. I believe I have the best job in the world -- I have the privilege of reading with students all day long!
I was born in Hawaii, but left the islands to attend Western Washington University. Go Vikings! My husband, Russ, and I are "empty nesters." We have five adult children: Analisa, Brittany, Kayla, Isaac, and Autumn. I can honestly say that being a mother has helped me to be a better teacher. In my spare time, I love to travel, fish, go boating and read. I am also active in my church.
I see parents as partners in their child's education and I am looking forward to a wonderful 2018-2019 school year!
