Welcome to part of the Information Technology department (Career & Technology Education). If your student is in one of my classes, they are taking one of the following courses offered at LSHS:

    • Digital Design 1-2
    • PLTW CSE (Computer Science Exploration)
Currently, we are using the Adobe Design Premium CS6 software suite of programs to teach our various concepts. Digital Design 1 focuses on using PhotoShop and learning basic HTML v4.0 concepts (notepad), while Digital Design 2 builds on concepts from 1st semester and beings exploring Dreamweaver & Flash.

PLTW CSE is a brand new course here at LSHS. It is created using various projects & modules to let the students have experiences with a variety of computer science concepts before committing to the 2nd year of the program, which is the full year of computer science using JavaScript as the programming language.

I hope that you are accessing Skyward often to stay alert of your student's progress in my classes. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please use the email link at the top of my page to contact me. This year it is going to be more important than ever to access Skyward since we are NO LONGER doing progress reports every 6 weeks. Report cards will only be going home at semester (January & June).

Please feel free to contact me regarding your student's progress or specific questions regarding grades and/or the grading system I use. I check my email daily and that is the best and most reliable way to send me information. If you call during the school day, your call will automatically go to voicemail so please leave a message and I will return calls either at the end of that day or the beginning of the following day. I generally try to reply to all emails the same day, but definitely within 24 hours. Please also encourage your student to bring their questions/concerns to my attention during class. It is important that they become an advocate for themselves and I encourage them to have those conversations with their teachers on a regular basis if necessary.

Here is to a successful school year, a challenging academic adventure, and to continuing to using technology to advance student learning and encourage creativity!
