LSSD School Board of Directors
Lake Stevens School District School Board announces new Board Director
The Lake Stevens School District Board of Directors selected Brian Kesler as the new Board Director of District 4.
Kesler is passionate about public education, and is looking forward to serving the Lake Stevens community, where he’s lived for the past 35 years. Kesler is a lifelong educator who dedicated 40 years to teaching in the Marysville School District before retiring in 2019. During his career he was also an athletic coach, theatre director, and building representative for the Marysville Education Association.
The entire Kesler family has strong ties to Lake Stevens—Kelli, Brian’s wife, worked as a teacher and school administrator in several local school districts, and retired in 2019 after teaching for 17 years in Lake Stevens School District. Their son, Joel, is a teacher at Lake Stevens High School, and all three of their children graduated from Lake Stevens schools.
Kesler was sworn into office at the Jan. 20, 2021 Board Meeting. He will serve the Board throughout 2021 to fill the vacancy of Director Kevin Plemel who passed away in September 2020. He has the option to run for a four-year term in the November 2021 election.
