Our Superintendent

Dear Lake Stevens students, staff, families and community members,

I am honored to be a part of this incredible community as your superintendent. Since my start in July 2024, I’ve been deeply engaged with you, and I’ve experienced firsthand the pride and dedication that make Lake Stevens such a special place. With more than 30 years of experience in education—from teaching high school German, English, and drama, to leadership roles in administration—I am committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive.

Superintendent

Before joining Lake Stevens, I served as superintendent of the Washougal School District, where we achieved transformative results through a focus on instructional leadership and authentic community engagement. My leadership journey began in the classroom, which continues to fuel my passion for student-centered learning and strong, meaningful connections with our families and community.

I am excited to partner with each of you as we continue to build on the strengths of our district and create opportunities for all students to succeed. Together, we will ensure that Lake Stevens School District remains a place where every child feels supported, inspired, and ready for the future. I look forward to the journey ahead.

Warmly,

Dr. Mary Templeton
Superintendent, Lake Stevens School District
