Our Superintendent
Dr. Ken Collins is the Superintendent of Lake Stevens School District, a position he's held since July 2021.
He has worked in the district since 1990 and was most recently the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resource Services for eight years. Before becoming a district administrator, Dr. Collins was Principal of Lake Stevens High School (LSHS) for six years. His educational career began as a high school social studies teacher, with 12 years at LSHS and six years at Marysville Pilchuck High School. Dr. Collins also has an extensive background as a high school athletic coach.
Born and raised in Cashmere, Wash., Dr. Collins earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Education from Washington State University. He also earned a Master of Education Administration from Central Washington University, his administrative credentials from City University, and his Doctorate of Education from the University of Washington.
Dr. Collins and his family have strong ties to the Lake Stevens community—all three of his sons graduated from Lake Stevens High School.
