High School & Beyond Plan

What is the High School & Beyond Plan?

Careers of the future

The High School & Beyond Plan, a graduation requirement, helps students get the most out of their high school experience and plan for their future. Students explore career or college pathways starting in 6th grade. Throughout middle, mid-high and high school, students update their plan (HSBP) to reflect their changing interests and goals.

This connects what they learn and the skills they develop in our schools to future careers. Post-secondary aspirations may include pathways for application to four-year colleges or universities, two-year community or technical colleges, apprenticeship programs, industry standard certificate programs, military training, or on-the-job training.

What has changed in the HSBP process?
In May 2024, OSPI announced the selection of SchooLinks as the HSBP universal platform for all students in Washington. SchooLinks gives students a powerful, easy-to-use space to explore careers, plan for career and college pathways, and map out a path to reach their post-secondary goals. All students in the Lake Stevens School District will transition to this new platform for the 2025-2026 school year.

Using SchooLinks students can:

Other Benefits of SchooLinks:
This platform centralizes all student information in one place (course plans, resumes, transcripts, scores, future plans etc.) for students across the state to ensure an equitable experience for Washington students. We are excited to partner with OSPI and SchooLinks to create the best experience possible for Lake Stevens' students.
