Lake Stevens School District has the opportunity to provide free heart screenings to students from the Nick of Time Foundation on March 4, 2020. We provided this opportunity in August of 2015, and are excited to offer it again to Lake Stevens’ students.
We are strongly encouraging all Lake Stevens High School and Cavelero Mid High School athletes, and any students who are 14- to 18-years-old, to participate to identify symptoms or signs of heart health risks.
The Nick of Time Foundation was created in memory of Nick Varrenti, a multi-sport athlete who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and died at the age of 16. The Nick of Time program works to help protect young people by providing these screenings free of charge. More than 100 doctors, nurses, cardiologists and other professionals volunteer their time to complete these screenings. Screenings have been conducted at several high schools around the area.
To book a screening appointment, please visit the Nick of Time website and click on “Request Screening Appointment.” Be sure to select “Lake Stevens High School, March 4, 2020.” nickoftimefoundation.org
