32nd Annual Dickens Fair brings together Lake Stevens community
On Saturday, Dec. 1, Lake Stevens School District held the 32nd annual Dickens Fair at Cavelero Mid High School. There were 150 vendor booths in the commons, main gym and outside the school selling a variety of hand-crafted goods. Participants donated thousands of pounds of food and $1,207.23 to the Lake Stevens Community Food Bank.
The Lake Stevens Kiwanis once again offered shuttle services to and from the fair from Lake Stevens Middle School and Hillcrest Elementary School.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and organization of Tiffini Schlosser, the Communications Office Professional. She has been hard at work on this event since August. Our custodial staff was once again amazing and we had help from several secondary students who earned community service hours by helping vendors unload and load their items, sorting canned food and greeting guests. We also had volunteers from Impact Church who helped set up the event on Friday evening and collected food and monetary donations during the event.
The Lake Stevens Fire Department also helped collect monetary and food donations and the Lake Stevens High School class of 2019 parent group kept vendors and shoppers well-fed and happy with a variety of food. Student musicians from Stevens Creek and Mt. Pilchuck Elementary School and Cavelero Mid High School entertained with festive music and showed-off their many talents. Special thanks to them and their teacher leaders.
Proceeds from this event support our volunteer recognition activities.
